ONE of Stourbridge’s newest restaurants has been given the thumbs up by the town’s MP.

Suzanne Webb paid a visit to Gusto Di Italia at the top end of Stourbridge High Street to meet owners Heba Mohammad and her partner Ahmed Rabie, who are of Italian and Egyptian heritage.

The couple, who lived in Italy before moving to England with their daughter, opened the eatery in October with the aim of serving up authentic Italian food for Stourbridge locals.

Stourbridge MP Ms Webb got to see how chef Ahmed, who previously had a restaurant in Rome, makes his pizzas and said: “What a treat to go to one of Stourbridge’s newest restaurants to show my support and get the chance to see my own delicious pizza made.

“I always welcome anyone who is prepared to invest in our town, employ people and contribute to the night-time economy as we look to further improve the High Street.

“I wish Gusto Di Italia all the very best and I will pop in again soon.”

Heba Mohammed said the new eatery has received some “great feedback” from customers to date and she added: “We loved the town of Stourbridge and we decided to open an Italian restaurant and include everything from restaurant decor to the smallest flavour that you find in Italian cuisine.”
